IMG_551960 some odd people
on the beach below—
families, couples, others.

2 setters frolic in the surf,
barking mingled with
distant cry of gulls and children
under gray but warming sky.

The rolling surf obscures
the conversation on
2 adjoining balconies,
reserved against the Judgement
—and from mine.

14 degrees of separation
from the sand,

1 moment of solitude,
surveying an ancient canvas
scrubbed clean
by tides and waves
and morning sun.
