The folks over at CNN are warning us that the marriage apocalypse is just around the corner. They are always warning us about something, since ratings indicate they have half as many viewers as FOX.
According to CNN anchor Carol Costello, “Talk to any millennial and you can envision an America virtually marriage-free, with everyone happily single.” She bases this observation on a single conversation with a group of journalism majors at Kent State.
That, and the fact that a lot of people who are married now have had divorces. Just for the record, that people who have been married have gotten remarried doesn’t prove people don’t want to get married. It proves they do want to get married. Over and over again.
And just because university students facing 30 grand in debt are not planning to get married does not prove much either, even though Costello did interview Jackie who would rather go to Europe than get married. All this proves is that some upper class college girl would rather travel than make a commitment. Like that has never happened before.
Seriously, CNN also reports that even gay people want to get married.

To expect a marriage apocalypse, you have to
A) ignore 53% of never-married adults who say they would like to get married, they are just looking for someone who has a good job.
B) sensationalize something sacred for the sake of a few more ratings points.
C) all of the above.
I’m going with C.
For Costello.
