I’ve been blogging now over nine years, and am planning to pull together some collections of these essays as small paperbacks that could be shared with others. I’ve outlined them below, and welcome your feedback on which ones you might find helpful or interesting. (Translation: would you buy a couple of copies to share with friends?) If I’ve explored other themes that struck a cord with you, please let me know.
Here are the titles I’m considering:
A Grace Observed: grief and the goodness of God
When my mom died, I wrote a number of posts about our experience with her passing in our home, under the care of hospice.
A Married Man: Responsibility and reward
This collection includes essays about marriage and family both generally and personally (with the exception of my wedding homilies and Night of Blessing charges and blessings which I am currently shopping around to other publishers.)Itβs a Jungle Out There: Faith, hope and your resume
These essays focus on the transition from college to career in a troubled economic environment, examining issues of calling, faith and fear.
So, that’s it. Please complete the poll, which addresses the question of which single title would you most likely purchase for yourself or others. (We’re assuming a price of under $8.) And then, if you can, leave comments related to these projects, suggesting other projects, or even other topics you might like me to explore in my blog.
Thanks for your input. Your input will help me prioritize my time.
And thanks for reading.
Just one question? Why would the poll only let me vote for one? I think all of them would be of interest. As a nurse, the hospice one could be helpful. Your posts on marriage are some of my favorites, so that would be of interest too. And lastly, as the mother of a college senior, your posts on transition from college to career would not only be helpful for my daughter, but I would give some to her friends who are also graduating next spring. As for the wedding homilies and blessings, I hope you find a publisher soon. I would also want that one! π
Thanks for being so kind. π
I chose the one vote only option so I could figure out where to begin. I expect to do them all by the end of the year, but it would be nice to know where the greatest interests is. Thanks for being such a faithful reader of the daysman.
I am so glad to hear that you are expecting to do them all. I will look forward to hearing the results of your poll. Your blog is one of my favorites. I appreciate your wisdom and your writing. Always look forward to the e-mail notification of a new post!
Hi Wally,
I would purchase all 3 many times over. I think the first one would be a blessing to give to Care Takers or the family of the terminally ill, the second inserted with a Shower or Wedding Gift and & the third with a graduation gift. Sign me up!

Thanks, Sherrie. I’ll send you a pre-order form. π
