For an anniversary, there was surprisingly little nostalgia or remembering. Our single most significant conversation was about our future.
Our marriage easily becomes our idol, the thing we seek more than we seek God. It is even easier for our expectations of our spouse to become an idol, the image in our head of what our spouse should look like or do.
Marriage was always a picture of Christ and the church, of His unconditional, self-sacrificing, sanctifying delight in His people.
Sacrifice is the essence of covenant making. And the sacrifice you both offer today is yourselves
