because motives matter
I'm listing a couple of speaking engagements here. Partly so you can come if you are nearby and have time. And partly so you will think of me if you need a speaker sometime. I'm always interested in talking about writing, faith, family and, or course, Santa.
Facebook updates are not the key to your future or your success. What you need is more long form reading in an age of Twitter.
As a kid I might have wished I had found the perfect shark eye (moon snail) along the beach, or had finished a conversation with a girl I met on the pier without sounding like an idiot. And nothing has changed but my list.
My wife used to teach a neighborhood Bible study for kids in which none of the kids knew a single Christmas carol or had ever read a Bible. In fact, they could barely read at all.
