getting settled

One of Katie’s favorite things about our apartment is that it is on the sixth floor, and we can take the stairs.

We can’t quite visualize what a normal week might look like, if there even is a normal week.

I’m thinking about the long hot shower this morning, with great water pressure. To find those things in Nepal, at the same time, is unlikely or rare.

I’m grateful to travel with her, and to celebrate her clicking off one more decade.

It may not take a village to plan a sabbatical, but it does take a lot of people.
