A meditation, on Job 38:4-11

I want to live beside the sea;
eat fish for breakfast (after tea)
and walk the shore and hear the waves,
the metronome of endless days.
Then watch the sea wash clean the beach
revealing what the tide can teach:
our life recedes and grace prevails—
the tides return. It never fails.
Thus in the ocean’s bounds prescribed,
a sovereign God is glorified.
